Trade show exhibit Oerlikon

Presentation of a product family

For the Swiss company Oerlikon Surface Solutions AG, we have created a complete series of 1:5 models. All design models are precisely designed presentation models, used at fairs and exhibitions, as well as in their own showroom. The aim of these models is, to simplify the visualization of the complex functions of the products and to convey a prefect impression of the machine design.

Communication of the core functions

Especially, we focused on the detailed elaboration of the core functions. Thus, when the door is opened, an automatic mode is activated, which turns on the spindle rotation and simulates the coating process by means of a light sequence.

All models have a base plate with integrated iPad, which gives trade fair visitors the opportunity to view animations and to find explanations about the system. In this way, the outstanding properties of the system can be interactively communicated.

"Ergonomics"

Human factors and ergonomics (HF&E) aka comfort design, functional design, and user-friendly systems, is a multidisciplinary field incorporating contributions from psychology, engineering, biomechanics, mechanobiology, industrial design, physiology and anthropometry. In essence it is the study of designing equipment and devices that fit the human body and its cognitive abilities. The two terms "human factors" and "ergonomics" are essentially synonymous.
Human factors and ergonomics is concerned with the "fit" between the user, equipment and their environments. It takes account of the user's capabilities and limitations in seeking to ensure that tasks, functions, information and the environment suit each user.
